Wednesday 21st October 2009New projects!I'm not sure how it happened but i've started 2 new projects over the last week! You wouldn't think it was possible with the majority of my stash in shipping at the moment but somehow I found a way! :) I've wanted to make a lace scarf for a while now. Whilst in the US I brought some lovely sock yarn by Lorna's Laces. I did intend to use it for socks but it seemed a shame to use such a nice yarn to make something people won't see very often. Instead I went online to Ravelry in search of an alternative ...

Wednesday 16th September 2009Crochet BagI have always admired the work of futuregirl. She writes an interesting blog on her crochet adventures and makes a fabulous crochet bag (in 3 sizes). Recently she published the pattern for it called the Starling Handbag and i've been itching to make one myself. As a trial run I made the smallest size out of some cotton stash, it's so cute. Futuregirl has also written a seamless crochet tutorial which she updated recently and it's the best ...

Monday 2nd March 2009Crochet Hipster ToteI finished this Hipster Tote from Vintage Crochet just after Christmas. I was having some problems working out the pattern for the base, so I took it home with me to the UK on my last next visit. Mum saved the day and helped me to work it out, thanks Mum! The next task was to seam the two sides together. This is not my favourite part of any project but as luck would have it Mum had her linking machine out so we thought we'd have a go and see if it could do the seaming for us instead. We weren't 100% ...

Saturday 14th February 2009Tunisian Crochet ScarfI started another project yesterday... I've lost count of how many projects i've got on the go at the moment but hey! :O) I came across the tunisian crochet technique a while ago and love the weave effect it produces. It's a three colour scarf, one colour on each row. Two of the colours are plain double knit and the third is a fashion yarn with gold thread and coloured fluffy bits. I like the added texture it gives to the pattern.
